Psychometrics

A consistent quality found among successful leaders and team members is self-awareness. The more an individual understands about their own strengths and personality traits, the more they are able to understand their interactions with others and the better they are likely to perform.

At Sherwood, we don’t think that psychometrics are the answer to everything. But we do think that, used as part of a broader discussion, they can be a really useful way for individuals to increase their self-awareness, as well as creating a shared language and understanding across teams. If we think this will help a client, then we may well suggest it as part of our approach.

We are also aware that our clients sometimes have a need for coaches and facilitators accredited in a specific tool, for example to support a development centre using an organisation’s already established methods or preferred approach.

We have worked with many popular tools and, across the team, we are accredited to use the following:

  • MBTI Step I and Step II
  • MBTI Teams
  • Hogan HPI, HDS and MVPI
  • Lumina Spark
  • Lumina Emotion
  • Strengthscope®, Strengthscope Team™, and StrengthscopeLeader™
  • Strengths Profile
  • Thomas High Potential Trait Indicator (HPTI)
  • Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Styles Inventory
  • Merrill Social Styles model
