Mediation is the process to put common sense back into conflicts and disputes which otherwise can become tense and time consuming. And expensive too both in terms of costs and engagement.
The advantage with mediation is that the parties choose an independent mediator to help them find their own solution. It is an informal process which puts power back with the parties who, after all, are those most impacted by any decision. The mediator is there to help and facilitate but not to find the answer. As such, mediation draws on many of the skills that Sherwood has – coaching, facilitation and project management being the most obvious.
